Collections and Exhibitions Technical Specialist 5

The Pennsylvania State University, HUB-Robeson Center, seeks a Collections and Exhibitions Technical Specialist to lead and manage the art galleries programs. The Collections and Exhibitions Technical Specialist primary role is to educate and engage students, faculty and staff, and community members in a wide variety of contemporary art that includes multicultural and inclusive perspectives. In this framework they will lead and manage the gallery spaces, Art Alley, the class case exhibits, conference room and hallway art in the HUB-Robeson Center, and the Art on the Move program. They will work collaboratively and in concert with other entities in Student Affairs, academic departments such as the School of Visual Arts, the Palmer Museum and other academic and community collaborators, and provide outreach to students in engaging them in the arts in various ways. This position oversees a department of three full-time staff and a robust student employee program. This position serves as a member of the senior leadership team in the HUB-Robeson Center and serves on various Student Affairs and campus wide committees. Excellent oral and written communication skills; multitasking abilities; ability to work with diverse groups of people; ability to train staff in a variety of skills; and excellent organization abilities are required. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Typically requires a Master's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
