Research Assistant for Contemporary Art Exhibition

Position Description:
Nationally recognized curator is seeking a part-time New York based Research Assistant for an upcoming contemporary art exhibition at the Heard Museum in Phoenix, Arizona. The Research Assistant will help in the sourcing of pertinent biographical information relating to the three dozen contemporary artists included in the exhibition. Tasks include: administration and organization of checklists; conducting in-depth research from library and archival sources; researching provenance, exhibition history and literature for selected artworks; preparing written materials about the artists and artwork.
Preference will be given to individuals with strong working knowledge of contemporary art and/or artists of Native background, with an emphasis on intersection. 

Pay range is $20 to $25 per hour - based on experience

Requirements:

  • Graduate student with strong organizational skills and self-starter
  • Ability to work 15 to 20 hours per week
  • Position is based in New York City, NY
