Executive Director

The next Executive Director will have the passion and dynamism to launch the Center into its next period of growth, fundraising, and history-making in the Western New York arts community.  The next phase will focus on enhancing the prominence of Charles E. Burchfield as an artist, initiating transformational fundraising endeavors, expanding the collection and the contributions of Western New York Artists, and strengthening educational collaboration with SUNY Buffalo State College.

Required Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in a senior level management position for an arts institution. Proven fundrasing record of securing gifts from a variety of sources, including the cultivation and solicitation of gifts from individual donors, corporations and/or foundations.  Successful planning and administration of museum programs.  An understanding of best practices regarding collections, programming and related scholarly research.  Experience effectively managing staff, as well as multiple revenue streams and complex budgets.  Master's degree or higher in fine arts, art history or another relevant field.  Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to serve as an effective spokesperson and ambassador for an institution or program.
