Current Opportunities

President and Chief Executive Officer

Experiencing vibrant arts and culture transforms the way we look at ourselves and the world around us. For more than 50 years Glenbow has passionately served as a leading cultural landmark in Calgary showcasing the remarkable talents of local, national and international artists.    Over the next five years, Glenbow is evolving its role as one of Canada’s most innovative public art museums. We will excite and engage audiences with new, meaningful and memorable experiences that shape the conversation about the impactful role that art and culture play in our community.   Our role is to bring art and culture to life - to make it vivid, meaningful and relevant.

Working with a refreshed and invigorated Board of Governors and new Board Chair, you will harness Calgary’s energy and inspire your team to achieve Glenbow’s future vitality.  As President and CEO, you will transform the organization to manifest Glenbow’s vision of consistently delivering vibrant experiences that bring art and culture to life, invite new perspectives, inspire creativity and move our community forward.  Skilled at fund development, you will engage patrons, donors and governments to realize a $110M capital campaign that revitalizes and refreshes the current facility creating a cultural destination in the downtown core.  As Glenbow’s ambassador, you will welcome Indigenous and multicultural communities to share their stories through exhibitions and educational programs that encourage visitors to make creativity and culture an important part of their lives.

Glenbow’s next President and CEO will be approachable, inspiring and authentic – the embodiment of characteristics we strive to create in our visitor experience.  You have a deep appreciation for the arts, culture and history, and value the significance of their intersection in storytelling and inspiring dialogue. Your demonstrated ability guiding complex organizations through change has equipped you with the leadership skills to navigate the nuances in multi-stakeholder public organizations. You are experienced in representing an organization with diverse stakeholder groups that may include government, donors, Indigenous peoples, the general public and media and have a sincere interest in taking a prominent and integral public role in shaping Calgary’s ever-evolving cultural landscape.

Glenbow is poised to explore new paradigms for how an art museum can engage the public in reflective dialogue of who we were, are, and strive to be. You are the leader to reimagine what is possible today and for future generations.
